Kathryn Carrera |
| I grew up in a home in which my father and mother nurtured a love for the arts. My father, an art hobbyist himself, guided my early painting efforts. To this day I have a deep love of painting, currently in watercolours. There is a unique and pleasurable challenge in how the brush carries the pigment and water onto the blank paper, and with hope and some degree of skill becomes art! Being a member of the Parkway Artist's Guild as well as Niagara Plein Air Artists has expanded my love of learning and involvement with art and artists. kathryn_carrera@hotmail.com | ... more | |

He has been painting for three years and has taken classes in various places with artists such as Anne Reimer, Susan Wintrop, Patricia Haftar, and Julie Ponesse. His years as an engineer have helped him to develop an “artistic eye” with a bent for accuracy as is apparent in his paintings. Peggy King |
| As my first love since childhood, sketching and drawing, took a back seat to family life after high school, I found my creative expression in cake decorating and teaching all manner of confectionery arts from my home for many years. I did enjoy an occasional watercolour class but had not picked up brushes and paints for over 20 years when, in 2008, I decided I no longer wanted a dedicated schedule. Attending local classes whenever possible, I am mostly self-taught and enjoy working in watercolour, acrylics and wet-on-wet oils with nature scenes from my wanderings becoming my main inspirations. peggy-king.pixels.com | | |

| Some people collect photos and make scrap books chronicling growing up. I have chosen to paint pictures of some memories that are buried and have come to the surface. For instance, Lassie, our collie dog, would sometimes chase one of the cows at the farm we used to visit in the summers. One day a cow stood her ground protecting her calf and Lassie had to back down. | ... more | |

| I’ve always had the passion and desire to paint, but never had the time. But now since I’m semi-retired from Real Estate everything has changed. We live in such a beautiful and historic region with so much natural beauty that I want to paint everything. The Niagara region is so blessed with not only the Falls, but an abundance of historic sites, parks and trails, rivers, lakes and beautiful skies and sunsets that not only surround us, but connects us all to life. Having spent time in exotic destinations and photographed and painted there only deepens my desire to learn to paint well. My long term goal is to become proficient enough to give back in a meaningful way through art. | | |

| I've lived and worked across much of Canada primarily in the high tech sector. I've never studied art formally but have been drawing since forever. Pending retirement was the incentive to branch and out and actually "learn" color. From that all the other tools developed. I enjoy pastel, ink, graphite, color pencil or pyrography.and even gouache and acrylic. There was even a brief but unrequited fascination with digital art. Each medium requires a different way of thinking and produces unique results. I love | ... more | |
