October 15,2016 Painting a Snowy Scene using Resist

The workshop was held with artist Lorraine Kelly demonstrating how to safely work with resist. Being a purist in her watercolour techniques, she does not like to use white paint, which is usually an opaque white, to make snow. The resist is applied before you start to paint. After the scene is painted and dried, the resist is removed to reveal snow drifts or snow flakes. Using the white paper, of your painting, makes it glow with reflected light. Resist is also know as making fluid or Frisket.
